“I love glassblowing. To me the craft is as important as the art, so I spend as much time perfecting skill and technique as I do in the creative process. It’s an astoundingly versatile medium, and has an inherent music in it. Working with it in molten form is rhythmic… more of a dance than a process.”
“If you’re looking for a political statement in art, or a statement about the human condition, you’ve got the wrong boy. For me, art is transcendental. Whether appreciating it or creating it, I love art that elicits a sense of wonder, a sense of awe, makes me grin or laugh. Whether an exploration of beauty, whimsy, or that huge realm of the unknown, it must remind me that all our human stresses and strains are insignificant.”
